Meeting you where you are
—
no pressure, no judgment
I work from a person-centered, strengths-based approach, which means I believe you already hold so much wisdom inside and I’m here to help you reconnect with it.
What to Expect
We start with an art journal to begin our journey together—something simple and personal to hold what we sometimes can’t. It’s there for you to use during sessions or on your own, whether you’re making a mess, making meaning, or just making space for yourself.
Your art journal provides the foundation for slowing down, tuning in, and expressing things that might be hard to put into words. You don’t need to be an artist. This is your space—for scribbles, reflections, messy feelings, small wins, and quiet moments—a place to notice where you’ve been and imagine where you’re going.
From there, every session looks a little different, because every person is different. Sometimes we talk, sometimes we create, sometimes both. There’s room for quiet, for questions, for feeling your feelings, and for taking small steps forward.
I help you make sense of what you’re carrying—maybe it feels heavy, confusing, or just plain hard at times. Together, we’ll unpack it, move through it, and look for meaningful ways to navigate whatever comes up.
You’re not alone in this.
A Little About Me
I’m Lauren, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC) based in Anderson, South Carolina.
I decided to pursue art therapy as a way to combine my love of art and creative self-expression with my personal mission to support and encourage people as they navigate difficult seasons of life.
I specialize in supporting teens and young adults who are navigating life transitions, identity questions, and struggles with self-esteem. My style is down-to-earth and collaborative.
Outside of the therapy room, you’ll probably find me at home in my art studio with my three cats, Tess, Teddy, and Mitts, by my side- art journaling, painting, cross-stitching, getting my hands busy with some kind of project that’s definitely going to involve making a mess; snuggled up with my favorite latte and crocheted blankets reading a good book; or out in the yard tending to my first-ever vegetable garden.
Most of all, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and find the greatest joy and peace in the small moments and simple things life has to offer.
